How to accomplish your New Year Resolutions!

Happy New Year peeps! Welcome to 2021, the year which hopefully will be an improvement on the hectic year we call 2020.

A new year typically comes with lots of us promising to stick to new resolutions whether it is taking time to read more or even taking yourself for a run on a weekly basis. This blog is a short guide to help you achieve (or re-focus) these whatever the goal may be!

  1. Be Clear! - Be specific with what you want to achieve this year! Don’t be vague like “I want to be better” or “I want to be more fit this year”. Make sure you can achieve it by making it measurable, such as “I want to be able to run 5k this year”.

  2. Set a time frame! - to set yourself up for success, set a time frame, for example, “I want to be able to run 5k by the end of July”. Setting yourself a deadline means you will be able to plan your time and have something to work towards!

  3. Work Backwards! - Now that you have set yourself a feasible time frame and an attainable goal, you can start setting yourself mini-tasks and actions to help you reach your goal! Make sure they are realistic and easily achievable like “start running 15min every morning for the month of Jan”. Start with smaller more attainable goals and then work bigger as you get closer to your end date.
