An evening with mates - Where to go near 190 HH!

Things are finally opening up and we might just be able to start our lives up again like we did pre-Covid. Maybe you just enrolled with us and don’t know the area around the college well or...you are a long-time veteran at the college and just need a refresher of what the surrounding area has to offer? Either way, we have you covered! Check out what High Holborn and greater London has to offer in terms of drinks with this awesome blog (If I do say so myself). Don’t worry, we’ll give you the scoop on where to go from food and fun activities in our future blogs!

For our first recommendation to you lovely people, we had to get the ball rolling by talking about one of our favourites The White Hart which just so happens to be the oldest licensed pub in London AND typically our first pit stop on the pub crawl we do for Fresher's week! It takes a mere 3 minutes to walk there from the college and compared to London prices, the pints don’t burn the wallet so much.

If you want to a little fancier because...TREAT YOURSELF! Then head on over to the Eve Bar in the heart of Covent Garden. Situated below the amazing restaurant Frog by Adam Handling, this bar offers innovative cocktails with a twist and amazing snacks to pair with. It is on the pricier side compared to our first choice but why not splurge a little considering the past year, we had! No need for a taxi or train to get there...just take a brisk 11-minute walk via Drury Lane to get your first drink on.

And if you feel like going for drinks with a view why not try the roof top bar at Aviary near Finsbury square. A 21-minute train journey or a 37-minute walk from the college can get you stunning views of London from this bar with their famous igloo like domes keeping you warm as the evening gets colder. If you like the sound of this place, you better get booking because places go fast (I would know...I just tried booking)

If you liked the sound of any of our recommendations, give this blog a like and check out the links below to see their websites!
